08/31/2005 Archived Entry: "GRARGH"

Our customer, in their infinite wisdom, has made a security change to all of their boxes that has left several thousand of their people unable to access data on any of our file shares. We maintain an old NT4 resource domain to host our main file servers SPECIFICALLY FOR COMPATIBILITY WITH THESE FOOLS, and they pushed out a massive GPO to their people that, among other things, prevents members of their domain from interacting with members of down-level domains, regardless of the trust status between the two domains.

"Scrambling" does not begin to describe what we're doing right now. ARgh.
