12/22/2002 Archived Entry: "Idlewild is both idle and wild"

Today was a long day, but also a rewarding one, for today Mistress and I got to meet Idlewild and her husband. We rendezvoused at the house of Idle's hubby's parents, and drove to Pappasito's for a lovely Tex-Mex dinner of fajitas and margaritas. It was a splended encounter, and as the evening wended on talk of computers and Richard Stallman turned to talk of love and marriage. For the boys of the CoG who are wondering about Idlewild, allow me to tell you that she is every bit the woman she appears to be on the forums--a classy, sophisticated lady with bitingly subtle wit; demure, attractive, sweet, and imminently likeable. And she REALLY got funny when we got a bit of alcohol in her :)

We left Pappasito's and headed next door to Pappadeaux for desert, and sat outside under the Christmas lights on the restaurant's patio, eating key lime pie and cheesecake, and the entire evening was ours. Later, when Mistress and I saw them off at hubby's parents' house, I felt warm and contented.

It is good to have friends.
